Description
History and Geography
The Campi Taurasini COD carries in its name a link to the Taurasi DOCG, its illustrious ancestor.
You can refer to our Taurasi CGDO Recupo for historical and geographical information on the municipality of Taurasi and its designation of origin.
Sensi
A dry, structured, and complex wine, Campi Taurasini’s colors range from ruby to garnet. Balanced, harmonious, and persistent.
The variety of the soil and the dense texture of the aromas (cherry, undergrowth, spices, tobacco, ginger, and licorice) are evident.
Its alcohol content can vary between 13% and 15%, well above the minimum alcohol content (11%).
It is aged for six months in stainless steel and then in wood for twelve months.
It pairs well with red meats and roast lamb.
Disciplinare
Campi Taurasini CDO belongs to the Irpinia denomination, which includes wines made from various grape varieties. The production area includes, and extends, that of Taurasi CGDO.
The Campi Taurasini production regulations allow for the 85% Aglianico blend to be supplemented with other non-aromatic red grape varieties. These must be selected from among the varieties suitable for cultivation in the Campania region, and preferably in the province of Avellino.
The Campi Taurasini CDO from Le Otto Terre
